TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

Arrival into Uganda and pick up from the Entebbe international airport. We shall later head for a group dinner at 6:00 pm at Café Javas. The café is located at the Mall so clients who wish to change some money to local currency can still do it there.

Accommodation at Santa Maria or Lake Victoria View.

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, start your journey at 8:00am travelling South West of Entebbe. It will take you approximately 6 / 7 hours to reach Queen Elizabeth National Park which is roughly 389 kms. Our first stop will be at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe which is one of the most known landmarks. The Equator is an imaginary line that divides the earth into North and South Pole. At this point, you stand with one feet in the northern hemisphere and the other in the southern hemisphere. Proceed with the journey through local markets and Lake Mburo National Park before our second lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Centre. After lunch, drive for roughly 2 hours before getting to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 3: Game Drive & Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the morning at 6:30am, start off your game drive in the park. Queen Elizabeth boasts of one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park or reserve in the world. Located on the floor of the Albertine Rift Valley south west of Kasese, its vegetation comprises of savannah, acacia, euphorbia trees and large papyrus swamps. A number of over 100 mammal species and 500 bird species make this territory and great tourist destination. The maramagambo forest houses a large selection of monkeys and birds with flamingos on the crater lakes. The morning Game drive provide excellent opportunity to see lions, elephants, Leopards, Topi and many other animals ( remember these are wild animals and nature can’t be tamed, so we can’t be 100% sure of seeing all the animals), After the Game Drive, head to Mweya Safari lodge for lunch at around 12:30 pm before transfer for the boat cruise at 1:30pm

The boat trip on the Mweya Peninsula along the Kazinga channel which is a 41 km stretch of water and believed to be the longest natural water channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George. Here you have an opportunity to see crocodiles, hippos and birds that inhabit the Shoreline. The boat cruise takes roughly 2 hours. After the boat cruise, transfer back to the lodge.

Day 4: Early Bush breakfast & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park ( Ruhijja)

Early morning, clients will have a bush breakfast at the Twin lakes where they will have an opportunity get a perfect picture of the sunrise. Later start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable national park at 7:30am through savannah grasslands in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It takes roughly 3 hours on unpaved road to reach Ishasha area. We shall do a drive for approximately 1 hour in search of the tree climbing lions and if we are lucky we shall be able to find a pride. Later head for lunch at Savanah before proceeding to Ruhijja. The journey leads out of the savannah as it gets hillier, Guests pass through villages, green hills, tea terraces, banana and pineapple growing areas. Then the road leads into the rainforest. It will take you approximately 4 hours to reach the lodge,

Day 5: Visit the Gorilla in the Impenetrable Forest

After an early breakfast, at 7:30am drive to the information center with packed lunch boxes to prepare for the Gorilla tracking. After briefing from the Ranger guide, traverse to the Gorilla sanctuary to start tracking these lovely creatures. It takes about 2 hours to 8 hours for this experience or less with the gorillas based on where they are located and after you spend 1 hour observing and taking pictures. The time you spend observing these endangered species is worth a trip to any part of the world and can never be forgotten.  Visitors are expected to have enough drinking water, good hiking shoes, rain jackets in case it rains, gloves if necessary, long sleeved clothes.

After the tracking we will get in contact with the local community. Dance, music and a short tour through the village will follow.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake mburo

Transfer to Lake Mburo, driving through Kigezi, and stopover in Mbarara for lunch. In the afternoon you will be driven to the lake for a two hour boat excursion. The boat cruise offers magical views of the lake, the fringing swamp and an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, water birds such as the African fish eagle and the rare African fin foot. Many animals such as buffaloes and antelopes gather here to drink some water so an opportunity to see them would be splendid. After your boat cruise, you will retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer back to Entebbe.

Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for flight back home carrying memories about Uganda along with you. The hotel is 10 minutes’ drive away from the Airport. . If possible clients are advised not to take very early morning flights so as to have some time to personal shopping.
